I hate pigeons the end of the war

Well in my last blog, I told you about how the pigeon problem was stopping us from using our balcony at home. So to combat the problem we put up a net across the balcony to stop the pigeons from perching. This seemed to work for a couple of days until one day we came home from work only to be welcomed by a pigeon on our balcony, they found a way in, how could this be! This really annoyed us considering we had to teeter on the edge of our balcony 40ft in the air in order to put the blasted thing up.

After a couple days I decided to go out on to the balcony and see how they were still invading. After a little bit of investigation I looked over the edge only to be greeted by a dead hanging pigeon, which I of course found horrifying. It must have gotten caught up some how or maybe it committed suicide, who knows. All I knew was that it was one less pigeon to worry about. This was a job for the boyfriend, who I instructed immediately to remove the pigeon from the netting.

Unfortunately, the pigeon was tangled up so badly that the netting couldn’t be saved. The pigeon fell to the ground along with the netting. My boyfriend and I went down stairs and mysteriously there was a second pigeon also dead, although this one had met a more gruesome end. Anyway we disposed of them both and erected some more netting with about 50 tacks to make sure the balcony was now impregnable to pigeons.

We are now left with an ugly net but no pigeons, yippee! So if you want to lose the pigeons I suggest you use a net either to stop them entering or set up some cunning traps.
